Start the clock ⏰

Good morning. The Olympic countdown has begun.

There are officially less than 365 days until the Olympic and Paralympic Games!

Personally, we're super excited at CG Sports Co and, trust me, our usage of exclamation marks is only going to increase as we approach the Games.

Here's what we're doing in the meantime:

  • Revisiting goals. This includes goals we've set for ourselves internally as a company and goals that we have set with our clients. Our actions in the next year need to prepare our team (clients and staff) and make a positive impact as we charge towards the Games.

  • Sharing our knowledge. The time leading up to and away from the Games is busy. The more we can educate our clients and provide them with the tools for clinics, speaking engagements, and more, the better equipped they will be as life gets busier.

  • Getting hyped. Let's face it, people who continue to work in sports do so because they love sports. We're amped for Paris and can't wait to cheer everyone on as they pursue their athletic dream.

My challenge to you this week: revisit your goals. Celebrate what you've already accomplished and see what may need modified as we cruise towards Paris.

Enjoy your week!

Re-marketing: How to convert from social to paid deals

Today we are going to breakdown one of my favorite marketing concepts: Re-marketing.

Re-marketing is the act of recapping or sharing something that you’ve already done. It is one of the most effective marketing strategies you can implement for your brand.

The best part is that it’s super easy and requires very little creative thinking or ‘original’ content creation.

Here is an example of how it works:

  1. Step one, “Write about something you recently did”: If you recently gave a paid speech, clinic, camp, charity or sponsorship appearance, do a short write up about your experience. Include who the event was for, how they found you (website, DM, referral) and what the event was about. Share what you talked about and your takeaways from the experience. In total this may only be a few sentences or 1-2 paragraphs, which is completely fine.

  2. Step two, “Post 1st on your website, then on social media”: Gather up a few photos from the event and then do the following in this order. First, make a blog post on your website and copy/paste the text you wrote in Step 1. You can include a few photos in the blog if you wish. Second, post to Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn (your choice) and include many photos. For the text, include just a couple of sentences as a teaser but not the entire written piece. Direct your audience to “Read my full recap at the link in bio, thank you!”.

Read our remaining three steps online and give this a try! It’s an exciting part of marketing your brand and being a pro. Enjoy!

See you next season, AU Pro Softball!!

Passage Wealth Partners

This weekend marks the Lead 2023 annual summit. If there was one consistent theme over the past year, it was this: Be where your feet are.

This idea was presented by Tara Zimmerman, representing our partners at Passage Wealth Partners, and it’s been on our minds ever since. But what does this really look like for an athlete, when our biggest focus is doing everything in our power to prepare for success in the future?

Your challenge this week: The next time you feel yourself getting anxious about the future, take a couple of seconds to bring your thoughts to the present moment. What are you doing right now? Is it something that you want to look back on and remember? What do you see? What do you hear? What feelings are coming to you in that moment?

Remember: Your mind will probably start to wander, but that is ok! When this happens, gently guide your thoughts back to the present and feel yourself begin to relax again.

“The world is better when young women have more money and more seats at more important tables and more platforms to change the world. When young women have the opportunity to learn about leadership, confidence, and mental health, they become those women who make the world a better place.” - Tara Zimmerman, Passage Wealth Partners
